Chandigarh: UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria laid the foundation stone for a Rs 26.73-crore expansion of Model Jail, Sector 51, which will add accommodation for 552 prisoners within 24 months. The project includes new administrative and accommodation blocks, watchtower, sentry posts, vocational-training factory, CCTV, firefighting and other services, besides solar power and rainwater harvesting facilities.
