Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration on Friday slashed VAT on natural gas from 12.5 to five percent with effect from midnight, providing direct tax relief to CNG and PNG consumers. The move is expected to lower natural-gas costs, encourage wider adoption of cleaner fuels and give a boost to the city’s natural-gas infrastructure.
